Home of the Seals'

Mumbai

All the Details from the whimsical duplex that houses Aditya Seal and Anushka Ranjan Seal.

March 2022, the Seals' opened their doors to AD, for a tour of their first home as a newly married couple...This English country house inspired home was designed by The Quirk Studio, with textiles and styling by Studio Altrove. We have, for a while now, admired The Quirk Studio's interior design journey.

The master bedroom is truly a Scandinavian style inspired oasis of hygge. It reflects the couple’s love for a minimal and calming space that is ideal not just for getting in a good night’s sleep but also for idling away a long Sunday morning.

The dove grey wall with its contemporary moulding creates a faultless backdrop for this stunning bed combined with the side tables, both from The Charcoal Project. We used a beige striped bed sheet to complement the headboard, the grey and the blue striped cushion were brought in to continue the monochromatic theme we had going, whereas the orange cushions add a needed contrast to the setup. Undoubtedly, there’s always room for a white duvet set and we added these ivory curtains to accompany it. We finished with a throw just casually laying there on this seemingly snug bed.

The soothing aesthetic of this room is quite telling of the personality of its occupant. The Seals' wanted Aditya’s mom’s room to be a pastel haven that oozes with femininity.

We coupled the bed and the pastel coloured walls with Altrove’s Henry bedding set in beige while adding a number of textured cushions in the same hue to create a fawn coloured canvas on the bed. A layering of our crinkle cotton throws in cream and terracotta gives off the impression of ease and comfort while also adding the much desired pop of colour.

A guest room this tranquil could bring even the most chaotic person a step closer to zen. The couple wished for a guest room that would prove to be just as inviting as the rest of their space, if not more.

Similar to the rest of the walls in the house, the guest room sports a natural white wall with moulding that does not overwhelm. We added heaps of texture to dress up the rather plain looking bed. We chose the Mirabel Tufted duvet set in Ivory by Altrove and paired it with our humble Tiny Polka cotton bedsheet set in charcoal. We pulled the look together with cushions of various textures and our signature ‘Gather’ cushion!
